FENWAY HEALTH EVENTS

The Dinner Party and The Men’s Event

The 29th Annual Fenway Health Dinner Party and the 27th Fenway Health Men’s Event were held together as one virtual gala on June 24, 2020. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we moved our signature events online for a very special evening celebrating our LGBTQIA+ community.

The evening included music by cabaret singer Jon Richardson, comedy from Dana Goldberg, remarks from Fenway Health CEO Ellen LaPointe, a dance playlist by DJ Mocha, a virtual auction, and the presentation of our annual awards. The Dr. Susan M. Love Award was presented to Rev. Irene Monroe and Dr. Thea James, and the Fenway Health LGBTQIA+ Impact Award was presented to the FLAG Flag Football League.

Each year, the Dr. Susan M. Love Award is given to honor and celebrate a woman and/or organization that has made a significant contribution to the field of women’s health. The Award is named in honor of its founding recipient, Dr. Susan M. Love, a pioneer in women’s health and breast cancer treatment.

Fenway Health presents The Fenway Health LGBTQIA+ Impact Award at The Men’s Event to honor and celebrate a man, group of men, and/or organization whose actions manifest positive leadership, visibility, and impact, for the gay, bisexual and trans male community and inspire others to strive for personal excellence and the betterment of society.

We’d like to offer a sincere thank you to all of our Table Captains and Event Team, our corporate sponsors, Dana Goldberg, Jon Richardson, DJ Mocha, Rev. Irene Monroe and Dr. Thea James, the FLAG Flag Football League, and everyone who logged on for this first ever virtual Fenway Health gala. Thank you for attending, donating, bidding in our online auction, and supporting the work of Fenway Health from home! A very special thanks goes out to our 2020 Dinner Party and Men’s Event Co-Chairs Mary Beth McInerney, Jennifer Petter, Ali Robinson, Taylor Brown, Tom Evans, and Taylor Harris. Their hard work and dedication helped make the transition to a virtual event possible; they truly rose to an unprecedented challenge and we are so grateful.

Harbor to the Bay

Harbor to the Bay is a charity bike ride from Boston to Provincetown that donates 100% of money raised by riders and crew to support HIV/AIDS programs and services at four area agencies, including Fenway Health.

The Harbor to the Bay ride is made possible each year because a core group of dedicated individuals, under the leadership of Harbor to the Bay President and Director Jim Morgrage, volunteer their time and energy to make it happen. So far, Harbor to the Bay has raised over $6 million, with every penny distributed to its beneficiaries. Few volunteer-driven fundraisers can claim such an impressive track record.

In 2019, Fenway Health was represented by 102 riders and 41 crew members at the 17th ride. All the money they raised will ensure that Fenway can provide care and services to every HIV-positive person who comes through our doors, regardless of their ability to pay. Altogether, the 2019 Harbor to the Bay Ride raised $240,980 for Fenway Health. We want to extend a huge thank you to all our incredible riders, crew members, and donors for making this ride such a success.
